To borrow a saying from Game of Thrones… “Winter is coming” but will we actually get cold temperatures this year? It appears the blast of cool air we got during the first week of November is just a ruse. According to NOAA Climate Prediction Center, we are presently in La Niña conditions through February 2026 which means a warmer-than-average temperatures and drier conditions for the Southeastern United States this winter.

New Air Potato Beetle Species Release

A new species of air potato beetle is being reared and released in Florida to wage war against the invasive air potato vine. This species of air potato beetle, native to China and Nepal, looks identical to its cousin, L. cheni, but their larvae feed exclusively on air potato bulbils.
